Week 44 (6/23/14)

Family,

We had another good week. These past 2 weeks have been super difficult to find people because of the World Cup. It is so funny because we will be walking down the road, and because im in a big city there will be a whole ton of people walking, but once Mexico starts playing the whole world becomes dead hahah. Right now they are playing and all I can hear is tons of people yelling because they shot a goal hahaha.

This week all the District Leaders (my comp) had to travel to Villahermosa for a training class or something so I went on divisions with another elder for that day.

This week was also super cool because we found a bag of brownie mix in the house, so we took it to the church to make them. As we were making them we did like a mission prep lesson to our friend Luis haha. This area is really hard there are not to many investigators, and the worst part is, is that there is never anyone home. We did visit one of our investigators this week, one that is ready to be baptized, but as we were teaching him he had a small heart attack on us. We were just talking with him when we fell on the floor. That was super scary!! This area is so weird. Also Thursday we were visiting some investigators that are an older couple when thier son came in drunk and super angry. Apparently something happened with his friend and he got super mad, so he said he was going to kill him and ran into the house. Now this is when the old lady started running. Turns out there was a gun in the house. So the man comes out of the house, but with only a machete (thank goodness) and starts running to his neighbors house. We literally thought that he was going to kill him. So all we hear is him hitting the metal fence with the machete and yelling. So the mom yellls at some other neighbor and tells them to call the Army hahah So ya we decided to leave at that point. As we were leaving the drunk man yells out´´ GRINGO!!!'' (Word that means Americans) and ran over to me. I was super scared but all he wanted to do was apoligize to me. hahah so we left. There are so many weird things that happen here.

It is getting super hot!!! It is at like 110 today!!!! Im dying down here haha. But all is well. Love yall!!

Week 43 -- (6/16/2014)

Hey fam,

It is very weird to be in a big city. I honestly feel like I am back home. yes pres. did close down our last area. Now there is only 1 area.

Fathers day down here was pretty big. It was just full of parties in all directions. I am really liking this area. We have some super cool stories. The coolest part is our friend Luis. Luis is a young boy 18 years old who last year walked by the church and wanted to know what it was and so he entered. After the first visit he went to find the missionaries and 3 weeks later was baptized. Now (a year later this week) he leaves at 3 pm to go teaching with us until 9pm EVERY DAY!!!! He is the coolest member I have probably every met. He actuallly got his Duty to God yesterday! Ill send the photo

My new area is pretty sweet. There is ton of work to do. Also this is my first zone with sisters hahah. For 1 year in my mission I have never once met a sister missionary. Now there are six in my zone. and 2 in my district. They are super cool. The church building here is like way cooler than the ones back home too. Its 2 stories with and Elevator!!!!!!! It is also the stake center.

Today was a tough week because my comp. got sick and had to stay home for one of the days. So I called president and we went on divisions with some of the members in the ward. Other than that really nothing else has happened so far. Just another normal week!!

Love you all!!

Week 42 (6/9/2014) NEW AREA -- Minatitlan, Veracruz

Wow!! I guess he has walked alot!!

I GOT TRANSFERRED!!

Family,

We have been really busy. A nice little hurricane passed through this week so we were busy helping some of the members get water out of their houses. Ya so no worries the rash thing has completely gone away. I am 100% better. My companion is not!!! He found himself a pet turtle this week and then decided to eat after playing with it and then got salmonilla. hahah so he was home in bed this week. So I got to go on divisions with Elder Lott and with Elder Alonzo.

Today was the transfers and once again then sent me back to the other side of the mission. So we woke up at 5 left on the bus at like 6 in the morning then traveled in bus for 10 hours. This is why this letter will be a little short. I just got here like 1 hour ago. It is so weird being in a big city!! I am now in the city Minatitlan, Veracruz. I am now with my first american companion Elder Hunt. I hope to have a good transfer here!!

Love yall!!!

People that we will miss from this area!

Week 41 (6/2/14)

Family,

This was another alright week. The good part is, is that I’m pretty sure I’m not allergic to penicillin still haha. I finished all the pills the doctor gave me but it just got worse so I started using the cream the doctor gave me and it went away. So ya just a good ole parasite. All is well though. E. Alonzo and I are both doing good now. We had a good week full of service. First off our golden investigator Diego is so much cooler than I thought. We went to teach him this week with his friend Jaime and the whole time we just watched them talk between the two. Our investigator was saying that he doesn’t believe in the bible like he believes in the Book of Mormon. He kept saying that no one baptizes right and that they don’t have the right power. We hope to be able to get a baptismal date from him this week. Also as you can see from the photos, we made bread!!! We got to the investigators house at like 6 in the morning to start making bread. It was a ton of fun!!! We made soooo much!! I now know how to make them so that I can make them when I get back home.

Other than that I has really been like a normal week here. It started raining really hard again and we have been coming home soaking wet for a few days now.

Our ward is doing alot better, with all the threats that Pres. Morales said the branch has started to get it together. The only problem is that alot of the less active members have commented alot on why they don’t come to church, and alot of it was due to my companion. :( I really hope the transfers go well here. I really want to have like a fresh start in this area. This area is awesome and has a ton of potential. Im matter of fact we had a fun activity this week. We decided to have like a MTC for our members, so that they can learn how to teach like we do. It went very well!!

That was pretty much my week. Hope all is well with everyone back home!!!

Love yall! Hunter
